Got my oil change this morning. I chatted a bit with the guy that's always working in the service center booking and cashing people out who has been there forever:
-He's guessing that whoever had my car before me didn't maintain it well - its burning oil so I have to make sure I watch that.
-He said seeing cars like mine with 200k+ miles isn't uncommen.
-He admits he doesn't like the L series.
-He mentioned Saturn coming out with a new series of sedans in the next 6-8 mos, something to think about

We discussed ideal cars and such, and he mentioned a couple of times "those were REALLY nice cars" when I mentioned my ideal, the 79 Monte. If only it was more practical!

That's too bad, I DO like my L a lot. But, in all fairness, the more "upscale" they tried to make it the more problems it caused. I didn't like the brand new L-300s. It was a selling point of mine, that it WASN'T brand new.

I'm glad I wasn't seeing things, I'm very interested in seeing the new sedans and what they're going to do with them.

Yay for oil changes! I should call and schedule mine.

My SL went thru oil. It is sadly is not uncommon but does not appear to have a long term effect. My 1995 is still alive in San Fran.
