Self Goal, Day 1 review
Sep. 20th, 2005 08:28 amYesterday was my first day doing this program http://www.self.com/goal . The food diary and workout log are very intuitive and I think it will be neat to have a central place to track these kinds of things from work or home.
I was able to fall within the calorie limits (based on BMI for me, which I know is flawed, but its what they use) and the calories were from the proper mix of food (they suggest how many servings of carbs, veggies, fruit, dairy, protein, fat you should be getting and allow 140 calories of a 'fun food). After looking at it all from yesterday, I just hit my calorie target, but seemed to eat a bunch at dinner (almost 1/2 of the day's calories came then). Of course, this is also due to the fact that I ate pasta for dinner! I'm going to try and spread things out a bit more, since I'm more active earlier in the day. I am getting 3 meals and snacking at around 10 am and 2 pm, perhaps I need to bulk up the snacks?
Dance class tonight (tap and jazz)! According to the Self site it will allow me to burn around 671 calories (a 2.5 hour class, but I plugged in 2 hours in their calculator, since we're not moving constantly).
