-A good ballet class. Peggy Anne mentioned in the back room that I'm better than I give myself credit and I just have to let go and let it out sometimes. We talked of the holiday, and how its still odd for them without her Mom (particularly on their Dad), and how this was our first year without Gram.
-Finishing up the kitchen (mostly) and having friends over. Their company is always lovely and seeing "Ringers" was a lot of fun!
-Sleeping late today.
-Having hubby make us breakfast (apple cinnamon sausage and egg nog french toast w/ coffee) while I took care of the litter box problem*.
-Listening to Voltaire while I make pizzelles (first of the season) and Brian works on Red beans w/ the various southern meats, veggies and seasonings (to go with rice) to simmer in the crock pot during the day.
-Catching up on e-mail, lounging with the Sunday paper before showering, errands and a pot luck dinner with a neighbor (and her ladies monthly pot luck group - hence the pizelles; its an Italian theme).

Ah, so nice! A year ago I was finishing up my Thesis and internship paper. I can't believe I've been out of school for about a year now. The free time never gets old!

*Max's age (20) is getting to him. Our poor old kitty is having a new set of litter box issues. We can only guess that he's having difficulty getting into it or something, so he keeps standing in but peeing *outside* of the box. We've tried various things, different boxes, different placements. I broke down and bought one of those large plastic mats that you'd put under an office chair to make is slide better so that the oversplash wouldn't get on our wood floor. We're going to try a smaller, shallower box, change it daily, and see what happens. Poor kitty. :/ Its tough seeing them get old, but considering his age, general health for his age, and add in that he's been diabetic for almost 4 years, he's doing damn well! Here's hoping this experiment works for him. I've said before that an insulin infusion pump for cats would be a godsend. I think Depends would be too at this point. Its not that he's losing control or not making it to the box - he's just having issues getting in/standing in it . . .

Yum!

We had the apple cinnamon sausage last night, rolled up in crescent roll dough with cheddar cheese. The bluberry worked well with Montery jack doing the same thing. Eggnog frenchtoast sounds great!

Wow, thanks for the sausage tip (heh), that sounds so good!

The eggnog thing, I couldn't believe I never thought of it before, but the suggestion was on the side of the container. I'm not a fan of eggnog, but baked in french toast was really yummy! :)

One of my moms older cats was having the same issue, turns out the cat just didn't like litter on it's feet any more. my mom started putting "puppy pads" (aborbint plastic lined pee pads)in the litter box and the cat was fine again or you could just try putting them under the box so it's easier to clean. you can get them at any petsmart

Sorry to hear about your kitty, but it's amazing that he's made it to 20! Wow. I can only hope my cats live that long!! One of my cats had litterbox issues and it turned out to be a urinary blockage caused by struvite crystals - feline urinary tract disease. I doubt that's what's going on with your cat, but you might want to have him checked at a vet just to make sure.

Awww, poor Max kitty. I second the wee-wee pads idea. I think they are great. For shallower sides, you could also try a doggy litter box, since one side is very low. He is a very lucky kitty to have such attentive parents. :)

I can't wait to see the new kitchen! I miss you guys, and I am hoping to make it to Goffee more often this winter to spend time with yooz. Of course, I would also like to have you over for the belated Spanksgiving, next Sunday, December 4. I have not announced it yet, but try to keep that afternoon/early evening open if you can!

Yay! Dinner would likely be around 3:30 or 4. I am hoping to make it something of a potluck as well, so you can bring a favourite dish of yours!

We have ripped Firefly to DVDs, so we will be able to give your originals back. I am so glad that we will be able to see you guys again! Talk about a lot going on with you two.
