This weekend brought a visit with the nephew and seeing some old episodes of Alf, the old Batman movie (the one w/ all of the villains working together), and the Robots movie (I can't believe there was a Britany Spears reference in there). Brian's nursing a cold and is on call, so we're taking it easy.

Our truck had a rockstar weekend though! Bro called asking to borrow it so he could head out to Hartford CT and pick up the band Damone and their trailer w/ gear since their wheels had died and was towed away. He headed out with the singer's brother, towed the trailer and all of the band members to their hotel, and headed home (by 4:00 AM). Funny! They have a show at some point this week in Boston which I mildly pondered checking out.

Today brought with it a kick butt ballet class (as usual), puttering around the house, organizing a kitchen cabinet (that's where my subject line of this post comes in - I bought some Elfa slide out baskets to better store things in so that they are easier to get to). Its nice to see things coming together, and more fun to cook when things are in easy reach. The crock pot chili + cornbread was a success, and I think I want to try and do some kind of crock pot thing each weekend if we're around (start in the AM, have for dinner). Again, given on-callness and Brian's illness we'll spend the night indoors.

I'm off to sit with the hubby in the den for couch potatoeness. Tomorrow will be a bit more active; we're meeting the Di's for a Greek lunch and some violence - the Lowell Lochmonsters! :)

Crockpotty goodness

I'm trying for the same thing - every Sunday throw the Crockpot on, and cook lunches for the week. It's been working, but I've been buying the premade Crock Pot meal dealies, and they taste fine but they are also quite salty. I want to be able to do my own thing, except for the lack of confidence in the kitchen.

Tomorrow brings a Broccoli Cheddar soup recepie that I found online - two cans of Broc/Ceddar soup, two cans of evaporated milk, and broccoli (How much I can't remember) I think even _I_ can do that!

Don't suppose you'd share the Chili/cornbread recepie? *geek geek geek!*

(PS - I'm trying a lasagna tomorrow as well. FEAR for me!)
(non-crock pot lasagna)

Heh, the Chili recipie was just from a Betty Crocker book (so I'm sure google could find it for you). The cornbread was just from Jiffy Muffin mix :)

I saw some other recepies that involce topping with cornbread IN the pot. I will need to research.

And, I found a recepie for crock pot lasagna.

I'm a bit freaked by that. *LOL*

I just need to start planning this out, and not forgetting my lists. I have to start working for CPA #2 soon, and I really will only have Saturday night into Sunday morning, and Sunday night to do any of this. Or else it's a season of fast food for me again! Ick!

(there was a mexican beef stew on the BC site that I think B would love.)
