Weird things about me:
-I don't like reading e-mail with a ton of poor grammar or spelling. Like, it hurts my head, and I have a difficult time parsing what the person is trying to say. This annoys me even more at work, where imo, people should communicate professionally (even if it is to a co-worker and is over a minor issue).
-I will never look at a random link or attachment in an e-mail if someone doesn't tell me what it is. If you ever send me an e-mail that simply says "look at this!" and don't say what "it" actually is, I won't open it. I think it comes from a combination of having a computer at work that's historically been unable to run some things, a text-based e-mail program, being impatient about things opening (similarly, if a website is too slow to load I just won't look at it) and a paranoia about virus' (if Apples weren't so expensive I'd probably suck it up, take the plunge and get one for this reason).
-I take my dance classes pretty seriously. Aside from dance just being part of who I am, after going 3 years and being unable to take classes (and then over the 4 years of undergrad before that) its a big deal to me to be able to go now. I know not everyone takes it as seriously, but I'm not sure why one would commit to something like that if they didn't (like, if you don't like it, why are you here). Free time is just too precious. This is part of the reason I stopped bellydance classes - since I wasn't taking it as serious as I should have I was just wasting my time, my teachers time, and my other classmates time. I forget though that not everyone is as serious as me.

Unrelated, I have more things to get rid of. Does anyone want:
-A black velvet men's large size cloak lined in dark purple suiting liner? Its got a hood and duster attached, and Brian hasn't worn it in forever. Years ago it won 2nd place in a Salem Vampire's Ball Halloween contest.
-A freezer bag of animal print trim (I mentioned it to Kaz, but I just want it out of my house - so whoever I can get it to first gets it).
-I have 2 old small animal cages (I can post the sizes later if anyone is interested - I don't have them handy). They have been sitting in our attic and since House Rabbit doesn't seem to want them, they are going out on the sidewalk this weekend if nobody else needs them. They are metal w/ a drop tray underneath. They are in very good condition, we just don't use them anymore.
-A small plant table, probably about 1' square and 2' tall. The top is glass, bottom metal. Its been sitting in our attic.

I won't be at goffee this week but I'll be at the Ominous Collective (I could also bring things to goffee next week if necessary, though I'd prefer to not bring the cages or table there). Just let me know!

Depending on the size of the small animal cages, I might like those. We have a guinea pig who needs a bigger space now, so that's the size we are looking for, something with a floor measurement that's larger than 2' by 1.5'.

Cages

The sizes are:
Smaller one: 30" wide, 18" deep, 18" high (w/ metal drop tray)
Larger one: 36" wide, 24" deep, 18" high (w/ plastic drop tray)

Since the bottoms have the traditional wire floors (that aren't good for guinea pig or bunny feet) you'd want to put something down on it. We used to put large sheets of cardboard or straw mats in them four our old bunny (we had to replace on a regular basis, since the bun would chew them). I seem to remember people with guinea pigs using some kind of interlocking plastic pieces to make cages from - perhaps some of that could go onto the floor? Heck, even some pieces of wood on the bottom would work. You may be able to find some info in my friend Tammi's site http://www.cavymadness.com/ about it.

Let me know what you think :) I have no clue where you're living, but I'm guessing its close enough that Brian and I could drop one of them off to you if you aren't able to come pick it up.

Or, that the synonym for a rabbit is a lagamorph? ;)

That is so weird, I could have *sworn* I replied to this.

Yes, I'd like them!

Email me at heinleinfan at gmail dot com and we'll arrange pickup. I could most likely come get them, or meet somewhere or something along those lines. I live in Lynn, I work in Beverly and in Peabody and some Tuesdays I go to Davis Square...

So, were you interested? I can hang onto it for you if you want it, but if not its going out in the trash on Sunday night. :)

Just proving that I have indeed been living in Michigan too long, at first glance, this sentence looked like "A freezer bag of animal parts..." which made me think, "Hey! I have a freezer full of animal parts, too! Deer, buffalo, elk....." :)

Yeah, I'd imagine you didn't run into elk that often when you were living in Arlington! Now, squirrels and raccoons and the sporatic possum, maybe! :). And I have friends that have a stash of frozen mice on hand at all times for their reptiles, but I digress.

Though, we got a cool hawk in our back yard last year:

My friend jetgrrl01 in LJ has a Dad who hunts, and sends her up all sorts of frozen random animal bits. We've been at parties at their house where they served buffalo lasagna, and (iirc), squirrel curry . . .

I'm actually interested in the plant table. I don't suppose you have a picture of it handy...

I don't have a pic of it, but I can try and remember to bring it with me on Saturday . . .

I thought of that, but I'll feel really bad if you lug it all the way to dinner and I decide it doesn't really fit our decor... I guess to be nice I'd just take it off your hands anyway, and then see if I could pawn it off on someone else. :-)
