Hump Day

Dance class last night was good, albeit I was dragging myself through it. I love dancing, but the 3 hour class just gets to me lately. I kind of wish we did more dancing and less sitting around (and got out of there an hour earlier). It was someone's birthday so we had a cake. Needless to say my caloric intake exceeded 1600 calories (though, it was under 1800 which is my maintaining level, and I did get around 500 calories of exercise done). We're finishing up routines so we'll have a few months to work on polishing which is always good!

We found a buyer for our Scout Armor, and they are coming to pick it up tonight (an NEG Academy member bought it for his wife - we always need more Star Wars chicks in the group!).

Unrelated to dance class or the 501st, I HATE buying dress pants. My larger hips than waist (proportionally) makes it really difficult for me to find stuff that fits well and doesn't look like ass. I also hate shopping - I'm very much a 'run in, grab it and go' kind of person. On Friday night Brian and I spent some time stocking up on much needed clothes with some of our tax refund money, and I got a couple of pairs of pants from NY and Company (one of the stores I've had the most luck in finding things that fit). I tried them on, and they seemed OK in the store, but this morning they seemed HUGE and the placement of the pockets was really unflattering on my hips (they bulged out open). Damn, I have to return them. I don't own enough pairs of business casual pants to wear a different pair that I like each work day, each week (I have 2 pairs I hate, but wear them anyway, and tend to wear one of the two pairs I do like a couple of times during the week). This is such a pain, but the only way to remedy it is more searching, which I hate. See my dilemma? Ah well, I need to get out to Natick to look for white Leia boots (I dislike the ones I have and I saw ones that were OK at Bakers). I can return the pants then.

I guess its good that these are the kinds of issues I find most annoying in the morning. At least I didn't have to clean up cat puke, piss and crap before 7:00 AM (like I did yesterday).

I have a similar problem with pants. I've got a butt and hips and thighs, but a smaller waist. So pants that fit my arse almost always have all this extra space hanging out the back so people can see right down the back of my pants.

Pants are the worst thing to shop for. I've had reasonable luck with dress pants at Old Navy, but it's still always a painful process.

Cool!

I always have trouble shopping for everything. Aside from shirts, I can never seem to find things that fit well. I can't mail order anything, and I never seem to find time to go shopping.

Once you find a good pair, buy two! Pants are really hard to buyy for me too.

I like Banana Republic because they have a lot of stretch in their pants - stretch corduroy, stretch chino, stretch wool. Their sales are a good place to shop.

I have similar pants-finding problems too. Jeans are the absolute worst. Banana Republic sells some trouser-style jeans that fit OK...but if you are out for less casual pants, give Target.com (yes, Tar-je) "To-A-T" custom khaki-style pants a try. I have a pair of their custom jeans and they fit great and aren't too expensive.
