No Middle East for us last night. Did anyone get photos or video? After having people around all weekend Brian and I just wanted some time to ourselves to relax. It was much needed!

We did go out for a bit browsing for patio sets. Each year we say we're getting one and then cheap out on the cost. This year, we're just sucking it up. We went to Target, Home Depot and Sears and found a strong, attractive, relatively inexpensive set at the latter that we'll probably go for. Once it warms up a bit and the pile of wood in our patio area is gone (and, the back porch is repaired) we'll grab it. We also picked out porch trim colors - a purple and a green (though in darkish gray-based, faded colors) with black for some small details. They'll match the current yellow of our house and the eventual dusty/gray blue that we'll eventually re-side in. Brian the artist will take a photo of the porch and play around with coloring parts of the trim in different ways on the computer, so we can get the design down, and there will be much masking and detail work (and that awful blue on our front door will be GONE!). The shutters will have to go, its just a question of what the siding will look like around them (faded or not) and whether we'll have to replace them with others (I hope not).

After browsing for patio sets we headed home, parked, and walked down to Moody for some Indian food. More and more Brian is seeing the joy that is living in South Waltham. Our Rochester friends this past weekend said they loved the area and would live there in a second barring financial issues (but you see, property in Rochester, NY is much less expensive than in the Boston area). During the walk home last night a car beeped at us and someone yelled "freak", only to see a friend from our Star Wars group driving by who lives over the line in Newton (the massive stormtrooper patch on the back of Brian's flight jacket is a bit of a nerd beacon). Its nice being somewhere again where you randomly bump into people you like.
