Dad, revisited

We finally got to hang out last weekend. I ate my lunch after dance practice and made him some toast with some yummy strawberry/raspberry jam from http://www.cardullos.com/ that we picked up in the square a couple of weeks ago. We watched "The Holy Grail" DVD and chatted about things big and small.

This morning:

THAT was in reference to my friend M that used to say my dad was "Punk as Fuck!". In reply to his comment I told him that he should join me in punk rock aerobics at the Middle East some weekend:

This is true!

My Dad is just a stick in the mud sometimes when it comes to "embracing those weird subcultures that my daughter is a part of in some way". He likes to make fun of me for it :)

I can't really complain about it at all though - he WAS the first person to take me to see Rocky Horror (per my request) when I was 15!

By the way, how did your mom like the class?

I cringed when they were going on about certain rockstars' fetishes - which were kinda icky even if your mom hadn't been there.

She said that she really liked it (and would even think of going again). I thought the fetish thing was kind of icky but the thing that must made me feel awkward was all of the swearing (to my Mom, "you suck" is a swear :) ).

But I think she was OK with it - I mean, what else would you expect from a punk rock aerobics class? :)

I won't be able to go this weekend (as you won't either) and I don't think I'll be able to do next weekend (I'll be off at an SCA fleamarket buying Brian a B-day present) but after that, I'd like to try and make every week, its so much fun!
