Happy http://www.nationaldayofslayer.org/ all! \m/

I'd love to go see that new Omen movie tonight, but I'll be at the dance studio. Perhaps this weekend?

We heard that the cat shelter finally called our 2 personal references. They are going to get in touch with our vet today, and we should hear today or tomorrow how to get in touch with the foster parent so that we can meet finally Charlie http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=5231853 . We could have a new kitty by the weekend. I still really miss Max quite a bit, but I'm looking forward to giving a good new home to another kitty in need.

I stripped a good deal of paint off of Gram's bureau yesterday (most of the white is gone, what's left is the original stain/finish that will need to be sanded off). I forgot how bad that stuff smelled, but work well it does! We own a small detail sander, but I'm going to bring in the big guns and borrow Dad's belt sander if he's able to lend it out for a bit. There are a good deal of flat surfaces that will be easier to clear with a larger tool (heh)!

Charlie is adorable. I'm very excited for you.

You will always miss Max. He was a special cat. I still miss Jack, even though he's been gone for 3.5 years.

Charlie's a Cutie :)

Good Luck on Kitty Acquirement!

Are you photo-documenting your stripping/refinishing project? What stripper/brand do you use?

I've refinished so much stuff, that I haven't been documenting the whole process (at this point I just want to get the thing finished so that I can put my clothes into it) :)

I can't remember the exact brand, but I can tell you that its one of the toxic 'be careful, it will make your skin peel' varieties and I bought it at Home Depot. I learned from finishing the other pieces in this set years ago that the less harmful orange scented stuff just didn't do the trick (unfortunately). Its a good thing I have a well ventilated area (our garage with the door open) to work on it!
