The pet shelter called yesterday to see how the guys were getting along. We'll need to give them a call back with an update later today.

I learned this morning that Mal likes going under the covers in our bed. I've NEVER had a cat that was into that! So cute! :) He also seems to like tea, because he was killing himself to get into the last few drops in the bottom of my cup (when he couldn't shove his head in there he stuck his paw in and licked it off of his paw).

These guys are nuts about our open windows. We'll be picking up a few cat sill shelves so that they don't have to uncomfortably straddle the part that sticks up in the middle of the sill to properly latch when closing.

If Brian ever gets out of bed I'd like to walk down and check out the farmer's market which opens for the season today. There's also laundry to be done in prep of tomorrow's show, some yard work (weedwacking and mowing) and later we'll see friends for a crafty night. Brian's on call weekends definitely limit what we end up doing since he needs to be close to work and able to be interrupted by a pager (so no movies), but I think forcing ourselves to hang around the home once a month is a good thing!

Related to our house, there are a ton of small things we want to do, and some larger things that we need to think about. Our front porch needs mending/scraping/painting, but last night we talked about the possibility of screening it in so that the cats can go out. There is a tiny bit of water coming in our roof near the chimney (the state of our bedroom ceiling seems to indicate that at one point it leaked a lot and the former homeowners patched the ceiling/band-aided the roof). Our guess is that we need new flashing around the chimney, but our roof *is* ancient. We knew this was coming, but its going to be painful. Before next winter we'll need a plumber to do an inspection/overhaul of things to prep for the winter, since our den radiator was improperly installed and a bunch of our other radiators leak a tiny bit from time to time. I love our old house, but it has its issues due to its age.

...crafty night? *perks up* ...what are crafty nights? *bats eyelashes*

(no worries - we're camping tonight, but can I bug in in the future?)

We had fun last night. I think I was still a bit foggy from the flu/cold/conjunctivits/whatever, but you guys are always great to hang with. We should do that more often, and YES, any of the Friday nights coming up that might work for a movie night - lemme know!!!!! Detroit Rock City or Poultrygeist!!!!

The Ringer, too, is pretty hilarious... :)

Despite all the troubles with the house, I must say that you two have done a most excellent job with it thus far. It's beautiful!

yay. :) i'm happy the kitties are working out and that they found a good home.

our weirdo cat likes spicy things. the spicier the better. she always comes 'round to try and lick peppers, salsa, cajun spice, et. al. she loves it! we always have to keep an eye on her when we eat hot things or she'd have quite the time of it. :P

Stinky loves to sleep under the covers with us. Ms. Bean not as much, though lately she's liked to sleep on my pillow above my head.
