Quack!

We went to a friends' movie night for dinner, and to refresh ourselves on Clerks, given the new movie coming out. I had forgotten how funny it was, and how I can see my friends in the way that they talk.

Despite rain, I'm determined to be productive today. I did the second coat of paint on the radiator cover, first coat of paint on our bi-fold door to the basement in the kitchen, and I'll do coat #2 (and final) shortly. If the rain would let up a bit we could go get wood for our den shelves, but I won't hold my breath. Its still too humid for me to do anything with the mahogany bureau, so that will sit for a bit more (perhaps tomorrow I can get some work done on it?). Once these projects are out of the way I'll feel like I can rest a bit more before we tackle scraping and painting our front and back porches . . . nasty, nasty work, but for the sake of the damaged wood out there, its got to be done!

If you see a Duck Tour boat driving around the regular Boston route with a bunch of stormtroopers in it tonight, that will be us. A driver thought it would be fun to take us out, so she's using her employee benefit of one free personal ride with friends for us! We'll suit up in the parking garage of the Museum of Science at around 7:00, walk down to get the boat, and head off. She tells us she's taking the normal route, so we'll head down to Newbury Street, up Boylston, around the common and into the water. Of course, this is all weather permitting.

Tomorrow I'm going to Stitch and Bitch, which makes me very happy. I need to finish the damned alien scarf so I can get working on a new project. :)

Yep, it is the S&B alien scarf. Its simple (just knit and perl) but its taking me forever - I started in January! Part of it is that I'm a beginner, so I'm slow, part of it is all of the counting (knit 5, perl 7, knit 2, perl 17, etc) and part of it is that I keep putting it down. :)

Its looking neat though! When its done it will probably be scarf weather again (its going to my brother).
