I've got to move it, move it!
Sep. 27th, 2006 09:40 amMy nephew went through this kick where he was obsessed with the movie Madagascar, which is where that subject line comes from. The song is stuck in my head, and now it will be in yours too. HA!
Last night's dance class was a good one, and I'm even more excited to get that Delovely soundtrack. I found an old Virgin Records gift card in my wallet the other night that Brian and I had forgotten about. We seem to think it has $10 worth of credit left, so I think we may take a trip out to Boston on Thursday night to use that on the Delovely soundtrack. After that we could walk up to the Park Plaza and then use our $25 gift card for dinner at http://www.maggianos.com/. Is it good? Will $25 get us very far? I know you Arisia folks have probably gone there before.
After dance class last night we headed out to Somerville to buy a rocking chair that I found on Craigslist. Its an old solid one that's mostly black with some gold detailing that's worn away on the arms from use - just like I like them! It looks great in the craft room, the woman let it go with a pillow that actually matches the room too. The cats were very curious about it, spending the night rubbing all over it and sitting under the thing. After sanding some plaster and doing touch-up paint we'll be done-done with the electrical upgrade work in the remaining two bedrooms. After some touch up paint and laying down peel and stick tile we'll be done with the first floor bath. And THEN we can take and share some pictures of what we've been doing since the summer! :)
The plumber is at our house right now cleaning and checking out our furnace, fixing our clogged 2nd floor sink, and going around to check and replace leaky fittings on radiators. YAY! I'm hoping he'll have some good suggestion about what we can do to our den radiator to make it less clangy, though that's something I'd imagine would be more time intensive and we'd need to schedule for later. Either way, I'm psyched that we have someone we can call for these kinds of issues now. Its all about networking, and all of that.

irony!
Date: 2006-09-27 01:54 pm (UTC)You know, you've officially made me terrified to be a home-owner. I think we'll be renting until we die! :P But I hope everything settles down soon so you two can take a break from the madness!

Date: 2006-09-27 02:25 pm (UTC)The rocking chair sounds great, and I'm sure the cats will love it - until they get their tail in the wrong place at the wrong time, at least... ;-)
Congrats on getting so much accomplished! The house looks even more amazing every time we come visit.

Date: 2006-09-27 02:35 pm (UTC)I wonder how a rocking chair in a roomful of cats feels?
tee hee
Date: 2006-09-27 03:05 pm (UTC)Probably very violated!
One of them is a long tailed cat even! Mal is 3 feet long from nose to tail, and I swear 1/2 of that measure is the tail (we were curious, and I grabbed a tape measure soon after we brought him home). :)
