Mechanic

I really love my old Waltham mechanic (Totten Pond Shell) but they don't have evening hours. I really loved Saturn of Natick but they closed. I had service the last time at the Fresh Pond Honda/Chevy but their alleged evening hours (till 6:00) don't really exist, since the technicians leave at 5:00 PM. I went to Monroe in Waltham for an oil change, but their waiting area just wasn't that comfy.

Do any of you really love a place in the Boston area that I could go after work or on Saturdays for an oil change while I wait? I'm going to Cambridge Honda/Chevy on Saturday right after dance class but moving forward I'll need a better option. Having talked with mechanic friends about standards and such, I'm just not really trusting of the drive in valvoline type places. I've pondered Saturn of Medford, but I've had friends go there and not have great service. I miss my old Saturn dealer (but, not my old Saturn)!

Which also reminds me, I need a new inspection sticker by the end of the month. I can't believe I've been driving Hedwig for a whole year!

As long as it's only just a fluids change (Oil,trans,& wipper) I've all but once had an okay time with Jiffy Lube. (It's also nice that they vacume out the crud build up).

Since I have a Hybrid now I use the Dealership even thought they are out on Rt 1. Otherwise for real work I used to go to a place near by where I live. Prior to that I used the same Mechanic my parents have been using for years (but he's in Everett, and I just don't get over that way as much).

When I've had to deal with getting an inspection done I've used the sunoco over at Fresh Pond. The couple of times I done it there it was fast and easy.

Look to see if there is a valvoline instant oil change in your area. You sit in your car while they change the oil, and they have free top-off service between oil changes (which includes washer fliud, very helpful in winter).
