House pics
Oct. 17th, 2006 08:40 amI finally took some, of all of the things we've been doing (starting some time in the summer):

Alas, some of them are kind of dark, because I didn't want to mess with the settings on Brian's fancy camera. And, I forgot to take pictures of the bureau I refinished (but it wasn't as impressive looking as I was expecting, so you aren't missing too much anyway). There are some captions under the pics to describe what you're looking at.
My next thing I'm pondering (Brian could care less) is around our kitchen storage. We have two of these metal shelves that we bought because they fit, and were inexpensive (at Target):

Everything on there gets dusty, I don't like having everything exposed, and the shelves next to the fridge are kind of awkward to get to. I'd ultimately like something nicer looking and easier to get at that's got doors so that I won't have to dust things off all of the time, but it may take some time to find something I like that looks good, fits good and is a price I'd want to pay. I want to give Ikea a try (they weren't yet open when we redid the kitchen last year) since I'm not looking for anything super fancy, and their quality seems fairly decent for what's needed for some kitchen storage.

Date: 2006-10-17 12:58 pm (UTC)We're going in a week or two to figure out our whole kitchen redo (bastards are offering no interest for 24mths on kitchen purchases over $2500 if you open a credit card with them right now, so we're pushing this ahead).
Sigh. We need to get as active as you guys in our own house. Winter nesting is incoming at least...

We're not a good basis of comparison, because I've been impacted by genetics, which requires that I rip something apart every few months or so (and I'd hardly call that normal) ;).
