dancerjodiI finished my party dress last night - va va voom! I don't say that about myself often but damn, I look good in that dress. I could also be because its paired with my sexy new vintage style black pumps. The pattern was simple but its the line of the dress and the fabric that makes all of the difference. Wow! If I'm up for it at some point I'll put it on and have Brian take a picture.
Post sewing and dinner we walked around Lexington Center for a bit before settling into a coffee shop, and hitting Joanne's for a button I needed (crap, I think I threw it away in the trash by accident, forgetting I had it by the time we got home). We spent the rest of the night in the living room with the lights, the cats, and alternately laptops and books. I'm currently reading Easter Rising. I really loved the author's other story, and its neat reading of the old Boston music scene haunts that he frequented years before I did to escape his life in the Old Colony Projects. I've been making an effort to read stuff I already own or borrow things from the library but given how much I loved his first book I opted to buy this one.
I'm supposed to go up to the dance studio tonight, but I have the first stirrings of a cold (sore throat) from being around Brian who was sick over the last week or so. I'm going to nurse the thing so it doesn't get worse, and I'll spend time on the couch with my recital videos and notes, my That 70's Show DVDs, my knitting and then I'll get to bed early. I think that sage turkey soup that Brian made after turkey day will be a good thing (he's a good cook when he wants to be), so I took one of the many bags out of the freezer this morning.
