I want to take my sweetie to NYC - he hasn't really seen it before (and I haven't done as much exploring as I'd like to).

I'm thinking perhaps we'd take a long weekend and drive down in my car on a Friday morning. Does anyone have any suggestions of nice (but not too expensive) places to stay either in or near the city? I'd also need somewhere to stick my car for the weekend.

Hmmm, wondering if anything interesting will be going on there in April . . .

I need to check with Bret, my Britney Spears, dancing fiend consort.
He's the NYC bitch.

Barring that, Greg and I stayed at the Gershwin Hotel, and he totally loved it. It was very avant garde, and was closer to the Village than I've even been (As in we walked, it was a BIT of a walk, but we did it). I thought the room was kinda smallish, and I think they all are, and we didn't have a fridge, but it was REALLY coolly decorated, and our floor had all Andy Worhol Marilyn Monroe prints.

They always have deals, we got champange (*hic*), and a free continental breakfast. We paid $150 a night, but we got a big room with two beds, in case we got our freakon. (With other people) They have much better deals for people willing to sleep together. *grin*

Oh and right now they have a deal, two nights @$129 per night, get a third night free, during March and April.

Um Parking, as I remember, was about 2 blocks away, at about $15-20 a night, discounted to that price since we were from the hotel. I didn't mind leaving my baby there.

I'll consult my bitch tho *evil grin*

My other favorite is the Beacon, but it's much more expensive, and further away, on Broadway near to Times Square and David Letterman's studio.

(and I think they both allow in room geeking. *grin*)
