I showered in the new bathroom this morning - heavenly. The larger tub makes shaving my legs so much easier, and everything just feels so clean in there. I want to do a bit tweaking with the decorating because I'm not totally happy with how the towels are stacked in there, but it works.

Mal's trip to the vet for drop-off this morning was uneventful. The poor little guy was going crazy this morning, looking for food and water (we had to take it away from him last night) and he drove Brian crazy (who slept with him on the couch - we'll alternate each night for the next 2 weeks during his recovery, and separation from Jayne). I got to the vet's office before they opened, so we had to sit in the car together for about 10 minutes. He was shaking from fear while at the same time purring like mad, and rubbing his face all over my fingers through the front of the carrier. Our cats make me so swoony sometimes. They'll call when he's done and I'll pick him up later (they are open till 7, so he'll be done sometime before that). I decided to call in to the dance studio so that he's not alone tonight. Brian should go back to Kung Fu, because he's missed a couple of weeks due to the bathroom.

I'm hoping this weekend to get our house back in order. We have to plaster, prime and paint the new drywall in our bedroom and then I can do a massive cleaning of the whole first and second floors to try and rid us of plaster dust. Our basement and garage are in shambles. Our comforter and dust ruffle need serious washings, and I'm looking forward to putting the lingerie cabinet back where it belongs and getting the full length mirror back into the bedroom where that cabinet has been wedged for the last month.

As far as home remodeling goes we're done for a while. I want to focus my efforts outside very leisurely (emphasis on leisure) for a while. Whenever winter leaves us my landscaper cousin and I are going to get the front yard in check with some ground cover, and I'm buying a rain barrel to be more environmentally conscious with watering. Maybe in the fall we can think about fixing cracked plaster and painting our hallways a color we like (the yellow and red that's there is leftover from the former homeowners - I'd like to get more of the "parchment" color that's in our downstairs bathroom) but I don't even want to think of it for a long time.

The shower was gorgeous, I'm sooo jealous of your skills. I'm terrified to try that myself, I'm sure I'd screw it up. But I'm just as terrified of hiring some jerk who'll do it wrong AND charge me up the wazoo for it!

My vet told me that cats will often purr when stressed out as a self-soothing maneuver. He was probably bargaining with you to let him out/stop the madness when he was rubbing all over you! I'm glad your next post says he's fine.

I couldn't live without my furpersons either. Enough so that poor T has to just put up with constantly clogged sinuses! Good thing he loves me enough to put up with the suffering!
