TV/Movies: Dancing with the Stars, Musicals, bad horror movies
Food: Tostitos Salsa Con Queso
I picked up some tiki stuff at Target last night: a string of tiki hut lights for on top of the entertainment center, some round palm plate chargers to cover the top of our little black tables (until I find new tables, or maybe we'll just keep them as is), some pillows for the couch and a bamboo basket (matches one we already had) to hold stray DVDs. This morning when feeding the bunnies I remembered this funky green leaf shaped bowl that we never use that's lived in our china cabinet, and I dug that out to function as a candle holder. I'm hoping to measure the windows and pick up some bamboo shades this weekend - I think that will make all of the difference! It still will need some work, but I figured it would be something we'd pick at as we felt like it. The room is kind of bare, and overwhelmingly either blue or plain wood, so I'm hoping the tiki theme can make it a bit more interesting. I'm also enjoying the irony of a couple of straightedge people decorating based on a culture that's focused on drinking. :)
