I'm so sad, my local yarn shop http://islandyarnco.com/ is now closed. I knew this was coming, but now its really final. Another will pop up I'm sure, but I'll miss talking to the original owner (my brother's friend's Mom - did you follow that?).

I need some really awkward needles - size 6, 12" circular. Finding those things at a JoAnne's or Fabric Place or Michael's or AC Moore is tough. The local yarn shop is where you'd be guaranteed to get them!

I'm going to run to the one in Melrose during my lunch break today so I'm not held up anymore and I know there is one in West Newton I need to explore. Do any of you knitters:
-have online sources you can pimp to me?
-have good experience with convertible circular needle sets? I know its an investment but its the funny circulars I always have a problem finding, so I may ask the hubby to get me a convertible set for Xmas if there are good ones out there.

The one the previous person mentioned is a good idea, but the name escapes me. They are a bit pricing and snooty, though. I like going to see Lucy at Mind's Eye Yarn in Porter. She is very nice and can order stuff for you. I like supporting local businesses. And then there is the Windsor Button Shoppe over near Boston Commons. Not sure if they will have hard to find stuff, but you could call. I have heard good things about the convertible kits, but make sure you get the more expensive one, because the cheaper one is crap. Sorry I can't remember the brand names. It has been a while since I was looking into them.
