I'm so glad the weekend is finally here.
Last night's Tori show was awesome. This was the fourth time I've seen her live and definitely my favorite. She was very energetic, super hot (black latex anyone?) and did a good mix of songs while leaning in the direction of the new album (to be expected). I didn't have the best time the last time I saw her at Harborlights (seriously, I almost fell asleep - soothing is good but it was kind of too soothing). I'm glad that wasn't my last concert experience with her. I'm trying to hang back from going to too many shows; it gets expensive and all.
Her opener was amazingly talented - just he and his guitar put out a good deal of different sounds. He reminded me of Dave Matthew's Band without the band, some some of you DMB fans may want to check him out: http://yoavmusic.com/ .
Tori fans are extremely rabid, moreso I dare say than Maiden fans! :)

Date: 2007-10-19 06:16 pm (UTC)My first time seeing her was at The Orpheum, Under the Pink Tour. Not a small venue but I had amazing seats (back in the days when you'd get in line early at a ticketmaster to get them) - I was right up there!
The smallest venue I've seen her in was her first "plugged" tour at Avalon, general admission. Brian waited in line stupid early to get those (they were only allowing 2 tix pp and you had to show a photo ID when purchasing and when going into the club - they wanted to avoid the scalpers).
Each show has had its moments, but as far as pure performance last night was definitely my favorite. Her music has differed a lot from album to album, but I think she's really grown into a more talented (and diverse) showperson as she's gotten older. Its too bad too many people still think of her as just the 'angry chick with the piano'.
