Good Things
Oct. 16th, 2008 10:47 amOur first meatloaf with CSA ground beef, accompanied by farmer's market veggies and some bulk-bought rice cooked with penzeys vegetable stock for seasoning (with a glass of local raw milk).
Hanging out with my brother and his GF, mocking the presidential debate while he works on his Biker Scout helmet. He suited up to walk the five blocks to our house in costume so that Brian could take some new roster pictures for him (and so that he could raid our basement for foam and glue sticks). I guess the reactions from folks on the street ranged from excited kids (running out onto their porch with their own toy lightsabers) to people totally doing the "I don't see you weirdo" thing, looking down, and scurrying by. It looks like our neighborhood will have yet another 'Star Wars Guy' in costume on the front porch for the trick or treaters. Maybe we should create a Watch City Trick or Treat map, and send kids to each other's houses? :)
Having a good hair day thanks to Rockin' Ringlets from http://www.jessicurl.com/ (and the drop in humidity that comes with a New Englad Fall).
Lacuna Coil is on random on the iPod, which is much cooler than watching the synchronized movement in matching outfits crap that they've pulled off with their last two tours. I have my memories, sniff sniff.
This week's horoscopes from http://freewillastrology.com/horoscopes/ . I don't live my life by these things, but its neat to see my efforts validated in completely random ways sometimes:
"Sometimes it makes sense for you to be conservative and cautious and skeptical of novelty. A periodic immersion in the slow-motion approach helps you maintain a strong center of gravity and allows you to be true to yourself in the face of the pressure you get to be like everyone else. The past few weeks have been such a time for you, Cancerian. Soon, though, you'll begin to feel urges to take some risks, instigate fresh trends, and express yourself with more daring and expansiveness. Are you game?"
