Our CSA bacon, the house STILL smells of it this morning

The fake fireplace DVD. I sat in the den reading by it last night. The last Dresden Files book (from the library) is very good. I forget how much I love being in libraries until I'm in to quickly grab a book. I'm not sure if its the quiet, or the smells, or the pretty old building or what, but I could sit there reading for hours.

Dressing in the morning - I'm not sure why I'm having so much fun with this nowadays? The decision of how to adorn myself has been fun, particularly through the use of thrift store sweaters and sentimental and friend-made jewelry. I've been more into hats lately given the funky wool one I bought at the CT Faire (and perhaps as a tribute to Gram, who was known for her love of hats). We'll need to go out somewhere kind of dressy so I can wear some of the nice ones I got from her house.

Mal is starting to sit on me, alebeit for short periods of time. He'll come knead dough on my belly for a bit with his front paws (while I'm laying on the couch under a blanket), climb up and get comfy on me, and then move after a few minutes. Here's hoping he does this more often (and, does it for the both of us)! Jayne has his emotional moments and will every once in a great while come over and sit on me for a bit, but he tends to prefer the warm radiator cover (smart cat).

We're going to the Elephant Walk tonight for our next 'exotic family dinner' (the last was Tangierino), so I can finally use up a $10 gift certificate we received years ago (a coworker of Brian's owed him $10 and gave it to him rather than the cash, who knows).

I hear that's what they tell the little piggies.

So is the Elephant Walk. I'd recommend the one in Brookline vs. the one in Porter--better menu.

Oh, they have an EW in Waltham now? Sweet!

Appetizers--we enjoyed both the Rouleaux and the Nataing; Heather always loved the Amok Royale, but my favorite was the Filet de Thon Saisi aux Deux Coulis Pimentés.

They owned and operated Carambola there for years. At some point they just changed the name/branding to Elephant Walk, but I can't recall when.

That bacon is amazing. I don't belong to the CSA yet (trying to!) but I would buy their stuff at the Arlington farmer's market and it was super tasty.

Did you buy one of the wool hats from the sheep shearing lady? How do you like it (if that's what it is)?
