The faire was neat, a small amount of pix can be found here: http://www.diabolis.net/albums/renfaire_type_stuff/vermont_2002/

Points from Today:
-The minivan of doom kicks butt and is really comfy on long car rides.
-Kira is a super-cutie.
-We ran into Tom and Lee from NH (whee)
-We also ran into a friend that I went to college with that I hadn't seen since 1997 (whee)
-I finally found a green muffin cap that I liked and bought it - the outfit is complete (save for perhaps another shirt since I'm not crazy about the one I have).
-I ate Pad Thai at a Ren Faire (!)
-I can't wait to move and get our wiring and walls done so that we can get to the painting stage and then decorate; our dining room will be a Medieval/Renaissance theme and it will be neat setting it all up.

And now, off to figure out what to do tonight (besides eventually hitting Dyke Night for Belly Dance and Burlesque http://www.dykenight.com/prideevent.html). My stomach is beckoning me to put something yummy into it :)

how cool!! thanks for sharing the renfaire pics. while i was there, i also perused your sterling faire photos :)

we're headed up there in july for a weekend of sterling. it's my 2nd favorite faire, probably only because i live in maryland and maryland is my home faire. :)

anyway, i even saw a couple people i recognized. if you ever get the bug to head to the MDRF, let me know. there's a few of us on LJ.

i couldn't tell from the photos, is vermont a permanent faire? or a travelling/weekend faire? just curious... great garb, nonetheless. the queen's procession looked great.

Sterling was really neat - I had never gone to that Faire before last year!

We'll be at Sterling the weekend of July 19th - when are you planning on going?

Its funny how the groups overlap so much! We ran into many friends that were performing and we didn't even know about it :)

That would be cool. We were pondering driving out to one in Pennsylvania (we saw a flyer for it at Vt this weekend).

Its temporary; its held at a State Campground which adds to the more authentic feel AND makes it a much more comfortable day to be under all those layers of clothes (nice and shaded). Its a small faire and I think only a couple of years old (I think the first one we went to 3 years ago was their first year doing it). They did a great job!

Unfortunately our options near Boston are limited . . . pretty much Vermont, Maine, 2 at Hammond Castle and then some other teeny ones scattered. King Richard's Faire is always there each year but just gets more and more expensive, more and more commerical and less and less authentic and entertaining :/

argh... we're going the weekend of July 13-14. We'll miss ya by a weekend.

but seriously, if you're interested in Maryland, it's only another 2-3 hours south of the PARF :) some friends of ours from upstate New York do PARF on a Saturday and MDRF on Sunday. or vice versa.

trust me, the trip will be worth it.
