Driving into work this morning, I freed one of my earings that was caught in my hair. Tiamatlady gave me this on my birthday years ago (a moonstone drop); we were browsing at the old Unicorn Books in Arlington Heights. I miss that place in it's old blue victorian house - when they moved to Cambridge it was never the same. And now they are gone.

We were in Arlington Heights because we had spent some time at http://www.sedonasunspa.com/. I had received a gift certificate for Xmas from Andy (who got it from Maya, who was working there at the time as a massage therapist). I ended up using the gift cert on my birthday and the lovely J kept me company. First and only time I had a facial. My face reacted so angrily to it, but I'm sure it was due to it being my first experience.

Somewhat related, I've considered giving the http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/ a try again. What's prevented me in the past is the time involved, but I think it may be a nice way to force me to slow down and relax, 3 days a week. The last thing I'm looking for is to add something else to my schedule, but I think penciling in some 'me time' to just sit with a warm washcloth on my face perhaps wouldn't be a bad thing.

Hump day! I'm going back to the gym today and am hoping to work out something more routine. Brian and I joked about having a poster at home that we put stickers on, each time we get to the gym. I may be a dork and create something like that (or nerdy still, a google spreadsheet). How do you like keeping track of your workouts?

I think that until working out really becomes a natural habit (it has been for me for many years now, fortunately), you need to do anything you possibly can to reward yourself for going, and for keeping track. If a calendar with stickers in a prominent spot at home is a successful visual cue, then I say go for it. Whatever works and keeps you motivated!

You know, simple as it may be, I think the idea of actually having a poster that you can put a mark on every time you work out is a great idea.

I've previously written it into my agenda and then crossed it off if I actually go, but that only shows me one week at a time. I think I having a whole month of days, so you can really see how many times you let yourself skip or how great you've been about going regularly, would be a great motivator.

I think I might make one of those!

I put a sticker on my wall calendar every time I work out. I haven't hung this year's calendar up yet. Maybe I need to hang it somewhere in-your-face so those empty squares can glare right at me.

I remember Unicorn Books when I used to live in Arlington though sadly I never went inside. It did look like a cool place though from the outside anyway.
