I am having the hardest time getting Mina to nap. I can in the car seat bucket, in the car, stroller, swing, or on me. Not so good in a crib.

I know the tools, but aren't doing well making them work.

My poor, sleepy girl. :/

Can she nap in the car seat at home? Leo slept in his car seat on the floor of his room for a few weeks I think before he transitioned to his crib.

My advice would be to, for the moment, let her nap wherever works. Sleep training can wait a few months.

I never got Kai to sleep in a crib until he was much older. So when he needed a nap, I wore him in a baby carrier, or put him in the stroller and walked.

Keep in perspective that this is a very short period of time that you will be putting up with this. Do whatever it takes (sounds like you have several options so one of them might be compatible with your nap-time plans) - and you'll get through this.

before long she'll be saying "I'm sleepy" and putting herself down for a nap.

F wouldn't sleep in a fully horizontal position EVER until he was about 8 months, and even then, any change in routine made us start over again.

We had a bouncy chair that he loved to sleep in (I could swaddle him AND strap him into the chair, so that worked well). I also used the swing and the Fish Tank Screen Saver on my computer to induce sleep. That worked really well when I went back to work - he slept there, and I slept next to him on the couch.

She won't sleep on you or in a car seat forever. You are not alone in this, and it's not worth stress, now.

I found that, 6 years later, when the kiddo snuggles and dozes with his head on my lap, I really miss the days where his whole body fit in my arms, and I was his entire bed.

we got a summer's infant rest assured co-sleeper and placed it in the crib (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3977276 it's $20 cheaper from target) and it seems to work really well. what we did is put a soft cover over the pad ( i use a plush changing pad cover) and swaddle inara as we put her down. she slept through the night (from 12:45am-6am) without too much fuss. we'll see how tonight goes!
