Using the myfitnesspal app/site has helped both Brian and I stay on track with our eating. It is tough to say what my weight really was last week since the number I plugged in was the one from my PCP appointment the week before, and that was clothed, but I definitely had a drop. Next week's weigh in will be the true test, more 'apples to apples' (naked in my bathroom first thing in the morning). I love how the tool shows more nutrition details than sparkpeople or WW online did. I'm finding that it is hella easy to rack up a lot of sugar or sodium, even when I'm not adding it as an ingrediant on its own and tend to stay away from the processed foods. It is helping me think of minor tweaks to my diet to improve things (like switching craisins for berries in my oatmeal or cereal - that kind of thing). Work schedules intervene, but at least I'm getting to the gym 1 more day a week. 2 days dancing, 1 gym and usually 1 or 2 with brisk stroller-pushing walking. I need more, but it is something.
We had a fun weekend with Mina, including our first trip with her to the Wellesley Town Hall/Park. I used to go there all of the time when I was a kid, back when you were actually able to feed the ducks and geese. She had a blast exploring and met a new friend (Noah) around her age. We sat on the ground and I piled pinecones into her lap as she laughed at me, and then we both bounced our knees up and down/kicked against the ground, me doing it and she mimicing me while she sat in my lap and leaned back on me. I could just eat that girl up every day, every second. We are so in love.
Today is our 14 year wedding anniversary. 18 years that we have been together. We feel quite zombielike lately and there isn't much romantic dating going on nowadays with a kid who always seems to be teething or have a cold. Still, it is amazing. I am a lucky lady.
I am intimidated by things coming up: Boston Comicon and I haven't started sewing the Ewok costume for Mina yet (or gotten my own accessories for the Leia dress together). Flying to CA on 4/23 and I'm sure there is planning to be done we haven't yet. It will get done. I am enjoying the spring weather, trying to be busy but not crazy.
I was hit by a woman backing out of a parking spot at the gas station last week, but thankfully will get the car fixed this week Thurs/Friday. Hopefully, a shiny full-body paint job to remove the scratches from shopping cart attacks. I really need to get it detailed.

I need to balance these off with something fluffy, very soon. I want to say I'm behind on my Dresden Files, so that is a good contender.

There's feeder thingies for getting pellets to feed the wildlife (bring quarters!) and I can attest the ducks are FRIENDLY and know what that feeder is all about. :) Plus they have some animals they're rehabbing you can feed, or not feed (I'm sorry turkey beaks are DAMN scary and I don't blame any kid for not wanting to get near that!)
There isn't food there (as I recall) but it's perfect for a packed lunch, a hangout and a walk if you're up for it. Last time I was there my nephew was 5ish (BTW - he turned 17 last week. FUCK ME I'M OLD) and we hit up Subway for lunch, ate at a picnic bench near the car for convenience, then toured the museum and the general grounds. He loved it.
