I spent some serious relaxing time in the living room this weekend, thinning out the ever-growing pile of newspapers and magazines before my free time dwindles with the school year. Our new couches are so comfy and I love the fireplace candelabra.
I was also able to set up my craft room and sew my curtains (the only thing left is to hang a few more pictures and organize all of my books - my anal retentiveness just can't deal with the way they were thrown on the shelves to merely get them out of boxes). Its nice to have a space of my own again to display the things I've collected over the years (and some things I haven't seen in ages since they've been in boxes in the back corner of an apartment closet). I like re-discovering things that I had long forgotten about.
Other distractions of the weekend included seeing the original Metropolis at the Brattle, a Demolition Derby and celebrating the lovely Feline's birthday at Communion in RI. I'm a bit bummed we missed the 2 parties we wanted to attend on Saturday (the derby got out REALLY late) and seeing Scissorkiss on Sunday - but we had other things we needed to do :)

Tonight I'm going to try and get some little odds-and-ends work done on the house (put the bathroom border up and do some touch-up painting, perhaps sew the curtains for B's computer room) in addition to reading the introductory chapters of my school books (or at least, the books for Wednesday's class). Tomorrow is going to be a LONG day - I'll be leaving my house at 7:15 AM and won't get home until around 10:00 PM or so after class.
But its nice that its fall again. I missed the familiar gurgle sound of steam heat that comes from old radiators that I haven't heard since I lived with my parents. It was 62 degrees on Saturday morning (!) and we confirmed that yes, our furnace did turn on :)
