Two of my Dad's paintings will be in an exhibit in NH (at the Nashua Library). This is the first one (I think) he's done aside from anything he did back in art school in the late 70's. So does anyone know what kind of stuff there is to do in Nashua near the library? I may want to head up there this weekend and check it out . . .

The opening is tomorrow (so you can guess what the subject of the exhibit is as a result) but I'll be at work and then school until 9:30 PM so I won't be able to attend. I guess the BBC will be there too (supposedly) covering the exhibit (so says Dad).

One of the paintings is just amazing - I think its probably the best work he's done yet. He's going to be working on a series based on the September 11th tragedy (and in particular, based on the rescue workers). And it will (of course) be comprised of 11 paintings.

Sorry for the long link:

Near the library, huh. ;)

Well, you'll be downtown. Headlines is downtown, but not on Main St. - on a cross street.
Headlines is a gothy/punky/hippie/alternative store.

There's also a nice canal nature walk (at least I heard they cleaned it up). and some nice
restaurants downtown for lunch (Michael's, this Italian place below the masonic temple, San Francisco Kitchen).

there's not much to do in nashua itself besides shopping, but if you drive five minutes down to tyngsboro, there's a cool mini-golf place next to matthew's (although if you want to go to matthew's as well, i'd suggest going to the blue moon instead, it's not much further away).

Are you and A free on Saturday? It may be nice to have a breakfast/brunch and then head up there and spend a day of it. If Jetgrrl is free we could also meet up with her :)

OK, so this Saturday is a date. We could either do breakfast at your place (we could do the community thing, we bring some stuff and you guys supply the coffee, or something like that) or go out somewhere (even something small, like Dunkins) and then get on the road.

Would 10:30 be too early for you guys? I'd like to get a good amount of time to explore NH (and I'll drive us, of course) :)

Why don't we go out somewhere that way we won't linger to much and then can go play!

If you're going this weekend, let me know. I have to schedule the house inspection for some point, but I'd love to see the exhibit.

We'll most likely be going to NH on Saturday (with Tember and BadAndy, if they are free). Would that work for you? I'm not sure of time yet . . .

I don't know yet. It depends on the schedules of the inspector and the sellers. When I find out I'll let you know.

I would love to meet you for lunch or something but I won't be around on Saturday. Eric and I live right next to Nashua, actually the end of our street is Nashua. In downtown where you will be there are a few funky stores that might catch your eye from the street and there are definitely some good restaurants and Nepenthe mentioned Michael Timothys which is the nicest of them all.
