So, I'm being posty today
Mar. 6th, 2002 07:29 amI'm catching up on news and found a few interesting things that I'd like to keep here for future reference.
This fiasco has been going on for a while - the hospital that I was born at, my parents were born at and my Grandparents were born at is under serious financial trouble and may be shutting down. Once again one of the city's own that's become successful in real estate is trying to dig out a piece of history; first it was Grover Cronin's Department Store (which is now a yuppie retail and residential mecca: http://www.addinc.com/news.cfm?ngo=3&nfnd=67 ), then he donated a large sum of money to the city to reinstate the 4th of July fireworks that hadn't occurred for 3-4 years due to lack of funds and now he's trying to save the hospital.

Its too bad that I'm not writing a research paper in my Health Care Policy class this semester because this would be a great topic (one of the things we've been discussing at length is the distribution of scarce health care resources). Perhaps another semester!
