The grapevine
Apr. 21st, 2002 01:05 pmI'm seeing more and more how much easier (or more difficult) things go when you have some kind of connections. Our broker can do a lot more in Waltham where he knows all of the other brokers well and knows how they work. We're having issues with BOTH of the listing brokers that he's been in contact with in Framingham.
We still weren't able to get into Framingham house #2 today - he's assured us that the selling broker has assured him that we can get in some time tomorrow. We went back to Framingham house #1 to check out the attic and go back for a closer look at the fire damage in the basement. My Dad has said that there are just too many odd things down there in the way that it was fixed and he's not expecting that our broker will find papers/permits of the repairs at City Hall (if that's the case we're done thinking of that house - don't want any structural issues due to a fire 15 years ago).
If time permits we'll be hitting some open houses around Malden and Medford today (we're interested in Melrose but there weren't any open houses in our price range). We have to take care of fixing my car up in the driveway a bit (short story - I parked at Burger King and when I went to back out of the spot my bumper was hooked over a bolt which pulled the whole damned thing off)! Its a good thing Saturns are so easy . . . one trip to Home Depot and $.21 on a couple of washers and the thing just pops back into place :)
Its been such an odd weekend!
