Dad told me that the first dumpster is scheduled to arrive at our house this Thursday or Friday which means that this weekend we'll be ripping out the cabinets and wall tile of our kitchen and putting them into said dumpster. I'll be heading to a wedding shower for a few hours on Saturday, does anyone want to come keep Brian company with fun house stuff then? This isn't fun demolition like removing our old shed was (its careful taking down of cabinets, breaking them apart, and neatly stacking them into the dumpster so that we can fit everything we need to in there).

Which means I've got lots of packing and moving to do before then, eek! All of the contents of our kitchen will need to make their way into the dining room, this should be interesting. And, it also means that I need to give my Dad a check for $5,000 on Sunday. This is all thanks to the proceeds of your's truly being laid off last October (I got a check for all my unused vacation time in addition to 7 weeks severance . . . I had found a new job within 3 weeks).

It seems that it may actually finally be happening now.

Hmm, but we still need to build that damned shed so we can put the shed stuff back into it (its all in our basement now) so that there is room to get the new cabinets out of the basement and into our kitchen (in addition to having workspace).

B and I were discussing what to do for my birthday yesterday and I commented that I didn't really care what we did, I was just excited that I wouldn't be covered in plaster dust and doing crappy house work like last year (we closed on the house 2 days before my birthday). He joked and said "my guess is you *will* still be doing the same thing, in our kitchen". I guess I should have expected this all :)
