House stuff
Aug. 6th, 2003 03:31 pmSo, anyone want to come chill with us tonight and paint/stain? We've got lots to do in various rooms in various colors :)

Last night we went out for dinner and to buy new kitchen stuff since B got more of a bonus from work than he was planning on (hence, the Xbox, that geek!). We got things like a new dish strainer and a new kitchen barrel, a toaster (threw away the old yucky toaster oven), a plastic thing to hold our tin foil and sandwich bags and a phone for the wall (B the geek had to pick out one that matched our kitchen in black and stainless). We didn't get the dining room totally put back together but we got a lot of crap out of there, transferred our dirty dishes from the shop sink that's my Dads and into a huge rubbermaid bin (to be washed when we have a sink again). I cleaned off our buffet and put the purple velvet and jeweled runner on it w/ our medieval-style mirror, knight candle holder and some brass tapers. Yay, its starting to be a useable area again!
Does anyone need a baker's rack? We have a really nice off-white one w/ a light oak shelf. We originally paid like $200 at Service Merchandise (*sniff*, I miss that place). We won't be needing it anymore. Its got 2 small top shelves, a large wooden middle shelf (we used to have our massive microwave on it) and one lower shelf. There are places to put wine bottles (under middle shelf) and are cup hooks to hang things off of the 2nd top shelf. It kind of looks like this, but is off white and doesn't have the exact same detail: http://www.micasafurniture.com/bakersrack1.html . I know they are cheaper now so even if we could get $50 for it it would be cool.
I made some guilty pleasure purchases too - the new Poison CD "Best of Ballads & Blues", it rocks, and Dirty Dancing on DVD (I love that movie, and it was only $10). Another cheap find, Target had "Trick or Treat" on sale for $6 on DVD - just look for Ozzy and Gene Simmons on the cover. Soon we will have a heavy metal movie night, soon. Bwahahahahahaha!
