First the school stuff, my GPA for the semester was 4.0 (two A's, whoot!) and my cumulative GPA for the program is 3.92. Double rock. I am now officially done with 1/2 of my Master's degree.

I got my spring tuition bill in the mail yesterday, ouch! This is the first time I'm paying for 9 credits at once (3 classes worth) and it came to around $3300. I know this is cheap compared to private colleges so I'm not complaining but man, only $900 of that is tuition (the rest are fees - or rather, funds to end up in Bulger's pocket). Its a good thing that I got that Christmas bonus for work, I don't know how I'd pay for it otherwise.

The visit with my HS friend was very nice. We made fajitas for dinner and then chilled in her apartment. She's REALLY big into scrapbooking and is a consultant for http://www.creativememories.com/ . If anyone wants to buy stuff or host a party (where she teaches lessons on scrapbooking techniques) please let me know - her stuff is looking really good.

This is my favorite Rennie song; thanks to Nazier for posting Lyrics:

Kind friends and companions, come join me in rhyme
Come lift up your voices in chorus with mine
Let us drink and be merry, all grief to refrain
For we may and might never all meet here again

Here's a health to the company and one to my lass
Let us drink and be merry all out of one glass
Let us drink and be merry, all grief to refrain
For we may and might never all meet here again

Here's a health to the dear lass that I love so well
Her style and her beauty, sure none can excel
There's a smile upon her countenance as she sits on my knee
Sure there's no one in in this wide world as happy as we

Our ship lies at harbor, she's ready to dock
I hope she's safe landed without any shock
If ever we should meet again by land or by sea
I will always remember your kindness to me

A cabbie chases down a purse snatcher and a man is stuck inside of a chimney for days: link 1

A long-standing community hospital is closed down (where my Grandmother, my parents and I was born), the city elects its first woman mayor, Hardy Pond is *finally* dredged and Raytheon comes back: link 2

A random note about Hardy Pond: when Brian was still vending at Fantasy Factory once a month we met a man from Waltham who was active in the Hardy Pond Committee (he asked us where we were located while he perused stuff at the table). He bought a bunch of stuff from Brian, and then called months later about some braided leather on the handle of a flogger that had come undone. Since we were local, I drove Brian over there so that he could re-braid it.

It was interesting meeting this kinky couple that was politically active in our city (and closeted to their neighbors). He commented how he had suspended his wife from the ceiling using the restraints that Brian made (doh - they aren't meant for that, they weren't LBD style AT ALL, just plain ole restraints). She sat there sweetly smiling through the story and then invited us for a turkey dinner. :)
