I love Sundays. Normally I get up when my body feels like it, put things in order in the house, work on laundry, read the massive Sunday paper, clip coupons, go food shopping, and do some kind of reading or sewing (unless its during the semester, in which I'm doing homework). There's a kind of Zen peace to it all and at the end of the day I feel relaxed but also accomplished. Tonight we'll be making turkey tacos for supper and my bro and his GF will be joining us for food and movies.

We did make it to MR on Friday. It was neat to see people, fun to dress up, and it wasn't actually that cold making it from the garage to the club and back at the end of the night. I wore silk long underwear under my skirt, some fleece boot socks and of course some boots (to hide them). The hatted one seemed happy, there appeared to be a decent turnout, more than I expected. I haven't heard Peter Murphy at a club in a while, either. I was a dancing maniac until I got hit by the wave of tired which usually strikes at around 11:00 (it hit at around 12:30 on Friday, we left around 1:00).

We finally checked out http://www.anatoliaimports.com/ and I picked up a choli (green), hip scarf (green velvet w/ silver coins) and a silk veil (shades of green). They had such neat, good quality stuff and their prices though not cheap were really reasonable. Nazier got a very pretty sounding tribal style tassel. Bunicula came along too so we could check out http://www.thetoyvault.com/ . We saw them at a con in Framingham a couple of months ago, checked out their Attleboro store a couple of weeks ago, and wanted to see what their main store was like. The Warwick area seems very old, or depressed - the mall that The Toy Vault was in was mostly empty, and store fronts in the town near Anatolia Imports looked very old and run down. It kind of reminds me of downtown Framingham, heh! The last time I was in that area was to visit old friends of my parents who they met on their honeymoon - their daughter was a pen-pal of mine and got me hooked on fantasy movies via Labyrinth around the time that the movie first came out.

I think I'm going to stick with the bellydance thing. My back-and-forthness comes from my dance history, and thinking that I need to keep studying a formal form. I've finally come to see that progression is not perfecting the formal form but connecting various forms of dance. I like the goddess dancing because they are very open-minded and teach a mix of styles, and allow us to pursue what we like. I'll probably continue with them, take classes and workshops with other teachers here and there (I'd love to try one with Melina) and then supplement with a jazz or tap class.

I can't wait :)
