I really want my life back. I want to check out these club nights in RI and NH and get out to more live shows. At this point though my priority is my degree . . . 1 more month.

OLD COUNTRY BUFFET:
I've been procrastinating on the homework quite a bit this week. Brian and I went to Old Country Buffet for dinner last night - I can't remember the last time we went. I could have sworn that they cost more before, it was only $9 for dinner. There was a large proportion of Asian people both working and eating there. Did the Watertown/Waltham area have a massive influx of Asian families in the couple of years that we were away? Perhaps they took the 70 up from Brighton (though why people ever did that to go to the Watertown and Arsenal malls I never understood). Or maybe the white-trash American buffet is something that's become popular for Asian families to check out? It looked like around 80% of the people there were from some Asian ethnicity.

THE HOLIDAYS:
Afterward, we poked around Target looking for clearance Halloween stuff (we want to get fake gravestones) but no luck. They already have most of their Christmas stuff out and though I think its excessive, I do love the lights, glitter and music and it definitely puts me in a feel-good mood. I need to pick up some boxes and paper so I can wrap the things I've bought already. Also on the holiday note, fitting our tree in our house this year will be interesting. We'll take the leaf out of our dining room table, move the table to an angle and hope it fits in the corner (its probably going to block the doorway between the kitchen and dining room . . . we'll need to walk around to the other side through the hallway and living room to get there).

BEING A STUDENT:
Tonight is class - after this 5 more to go. I'm stopping at D'Angelos and grabbing a sub to eat for dinner because there wasn't anything easy to grab to bring with me today (I always bring my lunch, on Tuesday need to bring lunch and dinner). I can say that I like killing time with homework and dinner in the Wits End and I'll kind of miss the atmosphere there after I'm done. They always play old punk or new wave stuff which is always a good way to get prepared to sit in a classroom for hours. I much prefer the dingy old comfortable 1970's decor to the new sterile squeaky clean vibe of the Campus Center . Wits End is much less crowded now that the Student Center has opened, but I kind of like it that way. I hope it stays busy enough to keep them viable for students to come.

Wow!

Around 200 people showed up for the meeting last night about a proposed moratorium on residential building in the city so that the law books could be reviewed/updated:

We didn't go, because Brian got home from work right when the meeting was beginning (and actually, it wouldn't have been fun standing for the whole thing). I'll keep you posted on what happens (for those interested in urban/suburban development or real estate in the Boston area).
