dancerjodiI feel now as I prepare to leave the office for 6 days as I would as an undergrad before winter or spring break. The promise of a lot of time to myself and the opportunity to not only catch up with things, but to get *ahead* with things always makes me feel at peace.
I remember countless days sitting alone in my bedroom in my parent's house in a room that's now my brother's. I had a word processor (heh) that was a high school graduation present that I'd pound away at for hours writing papers about the industrial revolution, gangs and behavior modification therapy (ala A Clockwork Orange) or fighting with statistics. I'd spend time with my family, sitting and listening to music in my room, visiting friends at Bickfords, and hanging out at RHPS. Max would keep me company when I'd lock myself in my room to get that project that just wouldn't die done.
Its funny how some things don't change. The activities may but the general feelings, opinions, desires are still there 10 years later. As I age and see the patterns in life I wonder if they ever fully change.
Anyway, have a great week all! I won't be around the computer as much so if you need me, you know where to find me. Happy Thanksgiving!
