We watched the end of this most recent Clone Wars cartoon series on Friday. Anakin has lost a hand (again), and did his first 'force choke' on someone. Palpatine has been kidnapped by General Grevious. Now May can hurry up and get here so that we can see the end of of the story!

'Bikram' Ballet was good on Saturday. Later I picked up the Rachel Brice DVD and am looking forward to trying that Wednesday night (bellydance tonight, tap/jazz tomorrow, fitness Thursday will be on hold because I have a date with Saturn for an oil change). I gave a copy to my sister for her birthday along with the Sleepaway Camp DVD set (yes, those awful horror movies from the 80's). My sister and I had a thing for them back then ("Oh I'm a happy camper, I love to drink and fsck . . .").

Easter was interesting. This year the aunts, uncles and cousins ended up at Gram's place for the holiday like we used to years ago. Its both comforting and sad to see the frail old lady moving her way slowly through the masses of people with her walker on multiple trips to the bathroom. Years ago *I* was one of the kids running around like a maniac, and now its the next generation taking up the role. I wonder if we'll still continue to get together in this way as a family once Gram is gone, because the cousins have grown distant as we've gotten older.

Sunday was our first day at home in over a month and brought much enjoyment, including a long spring walk out in the city, finally starting on the Leia ANH dress http://www.padawansguide.com/leia_anh_costume.shtml , Chinese food for dinner, laundry (as usual) and catching up with Bruce Campbell's Alien Apocalypse http://www.scifi.com/alienapocalypse/ . The latter was horrible, kind of a 'lets make a movie to play off of all of the Bruce Campbell stereotypes'. Still, he's the man so you gotta watch it, you know? Seeing he and Renee O'Conner as love interests was just - odd.

This should be a quick busy week! I'm hoping to make some final travel arrangements like booking the train from London to Edinburgh and arranging the guided tour we'll take while in England to Stonehedge and Bath. I can't believe that in a week and 1/2 we'll be on a plane!

It looks like we'll take a GNER train from London's King's Cross to Edinburgh on 4/10. The ride is about 4.5 hours and would give us a chance to relax and see a bit of the countryside. Catching an early train should be good timing for us to arrive at the B&B, relax a bit, and get out to the city for dinner. If we can get a reservation there we'll have dinner that night in Edinburgh at http://www.thewitchery.com/info.html (thanks to the suggestions of Tiamatlady). We'll be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary which also marks 10 years (!) of Brian and I being together.

Now, getting back to London a week later seems to be a bit more tricky Read more... )

Do any of you seasoned travelers have any suggestions? Either way, it looks like this won't be figured out for a couple of days because I won't see Brian again until late tomorrow night, since he's got plans with friends in NYC.
