Our stuff is all packed up for the office move, and we have another hour or so to go at work. What the hell am I supposed to do with no stuff?

Unrelated, I'm really loving the new Damone album, Out Here All Night (named after the title song which you've probably heard being played at all hours of the day if you listen to WFNX). Damone has definitely grown up a lot in sound (and age, heh) since From The Attic. There aren't any songs that I don't like and would skip over, there are a few that I really like, and they do a very weird but good cover of Maiden's "Wasted Years" (slower, quieter and with a female voice - weird).

Now, what I'm not nuts about is the new Gary Numan album. Brian bought it when it first came out and finally ripped it for me. I really love Gary Numan, but this album sounds a lot like the last couple - nothing new. I'll have to listen some more to give it a more proper review.

I'm heading to Old Navy on the way home from work to try and find a new pair of jeans (my favorite pair gave out literally in the crotch before we left for FL) and a new bathing suit (it fits, but its staring to fall apart after its 4 or so years of use). THEY ARE SELLING THE "CURVY" STYLE JEANS AGAIN (or so says their website)! Yay! I have a coupon that's good for $10 or $15 (can't remember) off of a $50 purchase, which is just about what the jeans and a bathing suit should come to.

And tonight we meet Charlie, whee!

I wasn't feeling the sexiness today because not only is it that time of the month, but I was wearing these frumpy jeans that I hate that are baggy to begin with and a size too big. Its hard to feel sexy when you are wearing a tent! I decided that its about time I got rid of the last 2 pairs of jeans I hate and replace them with ones that I don't (see former post about a crotch rip). Old Navy did in fact have ONE pair of the curvy jeans in my size and ohhh are they comfy and make my butt look fabulous! I came home and ordered 2 more pairs through their website and the three will replace the one with the crotch rip, the huge baggy ones I hate, and another pair that's a bit too snug and comes up way too high at the waist. One very useful thing I've learned from that scaling down book is that once your house is to where it needs to be, don't buy more stuff unless you're getting rid of something equal. I've taken that to heart when it comes to clothing and its been very useful.

I headed home to change into said new jeans and put on a t-shirt so that I'd be more comfy before more errands. I had to get gas, pick up a script at CVS and hit the dance store in Newton for new ballet slippers and tights for the show. I ended up getting split sole ballet slippers for the first time (its what they had in my size in the correct color) and they are so leathery and comfy - way nicer than the solid-sole shoes I'm used to (of course though, they cost $10 more). The woman informed me that the split sole blochs are the adult/professional grade, where the solid sole ones are considered kids/amateur (even though they come in all sizes).

The shoes aren't the really cool part though. I picked up the tights (she commented on how I'd need X size "because I was so thin"), what? People often don't realize how long my legs are since the clothes I wear ends up swimming on me (with the exception of the jeans I do like). I've mentioned before the difficulty I have in finding clothing that fits because my hips are larger than my waist proportionally (I end up in between sizes, so things are unflatteringly tight or swim on me - usually I choose the latter of the two options in buying). Then, when I went to cash out she asked what my t-shirt was about (its a random 501st one) and I told her about the 501st in as few words as possible (My husand and I are in a star wars costume group that primarily participates in charity events, though we've done some promotional things for LFL). She replied that she didn't think I looked old enough to have a husband, I looked like more than a teenager (and I had to tell her I was going to be 31). Ha!

Yeah, so Old Navy Curvy jeans are magic or something. They'll make you look younger and thinner in minutes! :)

We met Charlie, and though he's a cutie and I'm sure he'd warm up to us (he's really scared of strangers at the moment) we don't think he'd be for us. He loves to be outside and we'd want to keep him inside (he will use the litter box inside, but prefers to go out). He freaks out with new people around and given that we have friends over quite often that would pose a problem for him. He has a serious weight problem, and given how high maintenance our last cat was as selfish as it is, we'd like one that isn't so high maintenance for a bit.

But, we hit Pet World again and found a cat we are interested in. The shelter wasn't open but we discussed him with them. He's an active guy, 9 months or so old, and they'd want him adopted with another. We picked out another similarly aged male that he gets along with and plays with sometimes. Brian and I will go back tomorrow when the shelter is open to meet them and may end up taking them home on Sunday. Weird!

Here's the little guy that we're interested in, Dylan: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=6089168
Tysor is the black and white kitty (the son) here http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=4425860 that they thought would do well with Dylan. The bio mentions they are a bonded pair, but the woman said that since then the two don't seem too attached. He was affectionate (not as much as Dylan) and she said he can be moody, but it sounds a lot like Max was in his younger days - sometimes he's in a mood and doesn't want to be played with. The two seem like they'd be well balanced with one a bit off the wall and kittenlike and the other more reserved, but both very affectionate.

She had mentioned potentially breaking up a triple and adopting Daisy http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=6398238 the gray one to pair with with Dylan, since they've played together. She said that she wouldn't like to split the three that are bonded, but at the same time she thinks they'd have an easier time adopting out a pair of 2 together than 3. I guess these three were adopted 2 weeks ago, were very skittish, and the people brought them back to the shelter. I don't like the idea of splitting these 3 up for both of those reasons.

We shall see, but its looking like tomorrow we'll make arrangements, and on Sunday we'll pick them up. Weird!

Brian and I were discussing potential names in the car based on them being two boys, their sizes, looks and apparent personalities we're thinking of calling them Mal and Jayne - heh! :)
