Mal's going to our regular vet today at 11:30 (Brian's taking him) because his belly is a bit drippy, poor guy.

It was clear this morning when I left that he had licked at it (somehow got the e-collar out of the way while I was sleeping in there with him) but at that point (7:00 AM) it wasn't oozy or anything. By the time Brian was up a few hours later it was clear and drippy. The vet doesn't seem to be too concerned and said it was OK to wait for this appointment, but they still want to see him. My guess is that they'll shoot him full of antibiotics.

Poor Brian. Our TV seems to be broken this morning too - there is no picture coming up and either Mal disconnected something in back of the entertainment center over the night, or the thing just chose to die now. Its kind of old, so it wouldn't be surprising. Brian hooked it directly to the DVD player and still no picture, so unless a wire is damaged somewhere the thing is probably toast. Well, it is tax free weekend and all :/

Brian doesn't deal well with too much happening at once, and he was supposed to go back to work today. Poor guy. At least I'm only working a 1/2 day today, so I'll be home to see them when they return from the vet.

Damn. At least this is kind of a mellow weekend for us, and we can be around a lot to look after the little guy.

And hey, our porches will be all painted tonight!

He did indeed have an infection (and a 105 degree temperature). He's shot with antibiotics, we have a 10 day supply to give him, and he traded in the soft e-collar for a hard plastic one. At least its clear though, so he can see where he's going underneath him.

Brian headed to work and I'm holding down the fort. Mal is sleeping calmly now http://tk7602.livejournal.com/823999.html , so I figured I'd hang out in the living room with Jayne (in the front window) for a while.

Brian fixed our TV. We can't figure out what was wrong with it - it needed to be "rebooted" (he unplugged it, plugged it in again, and its fine now). Our porches are looking great (of course, I'm not sure how we'll leave the house with the floors painted . . . the bulched is an option, but we can't lock that from the outside. I'll figure it out when it becomes an issue :) I had some cash in my wallet, so I stopped at Home Depot on the way home and picked up a new welcome mat for out front.

Friday finally!
