Note to Self . . .
Jul. 11th, 2007 08:33 am. . . don't go two weeks without a serious dance workout!
Though I've done a lot of walking over the last couple of weeks I haven't had dance class due to the July 4th holiday. My right calf kept doing that muscle spasm/charlie horse thing when I'd put all my weight on it for an extended time in the ballet class. Like pique' turns would be fine, traveling around the floor would be fine, glissades would be fine, but I'd try to jump into second and do a pas de bourrée and when I'd go into a really deep plie' before jumping up (high) and landing in 2nd and end up with a cramp in my right calf. Or I'd have one leg up on the bar, turned out to the side and when I tried to releve' on the foot that was on the floor (on the rights side only) I'd get a huge spasm. Heh.
I still haven't figured out a good workout schedule that also involves weights but I'll get there. My upper body strength is waning again and my abdomen control has gone by the wayside as more time passes since bellydance classes.
On a positive note, I've lost the few pounds I've gained over the weekends o' cookouts, and my % fat is the lowest yet since we bought that WW scale that measures it. I'm sure its not super accurate, but its in the 'active female' range which I'm comfortable with. The calipers - the kind of scare me. :)
