We've been working our way steadily through Twin Peaks, now are close to mid-way through Season 2 (we just figured out who actually killed Laura). You know what freaks me out more than this show? The actor playing Harold Smith http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0902188/ was etched into my memory as playing the pedophile next-door, in an 80s After School Special http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0286597/ , thus making his Twin Peaks character even more creepy. I think it's those eyes or something, looking right through you (mind you, I did feel bad for Harold). Being a bit confused by the BOB thing, I did some reading on the internet and caught a whole lot of spoilers. Woah Nellie! It's just going to get weirder! Not ruining things for Brian I didn't give him any details, but I told him last night that the show hasn't gotten weird yet (relatively). My guess is that this is when ratings started dropping.

Also on the weird TV note, we watched a bit of http://www.ifc.com/portlandia/ last night. It's funny and I can see myself and my friends in some of that, embarrassingly enough. I don't think it's quite funny enough to be recording it on DVR though (although, I think I could watch the 'Put a Bird on It' and the "Portland Dream of the 90s' clips over and over again (check them out on the website). Lately I've been thinking of the time we spend sitting on our butts in front of the TV, and how our cable consumption is. Could we get by watching what we want to watch via netflix, hulu, etc? Something to ponder. Brian loves his surround sound and I like watching movies and particular shows. How has your experience been ditching the cable? It's an extreme I don't think I want to do, but it's something that could be cut in a pinch. I guess I like daydreaming of how things could be different.

Another snow storm is on its way. We picked up some dry winter clothes for Brian last weekend (boots, snowpants, mittens and a jacket) since he's never, ever owned any and they'll last forever. I'm excited about our overnight next month with the family at http://www.outdoors.org/lodging/cardigan/index.cfm . I have to figure out where to rent the snowshoes from. I know that REI does it, but we'd need them Saturday and Sunday (probably needing to pick them up Friday for Convenience and drop them off on Monday). With all of the daily fees there, it may be the same to just buy them. In theory I'd love to do more snowshoeing, but Brian hasn't even tried it yet. Also, theory and practice are quite different. ;)

We're going to see some friends play at TTs on Friday night - a 90s themed music night. Anyone else want to join us there? http://www.ttthebears.com/public/calendar.php . I don't really have any more 90s attire. Where has my flannel gone (aren't I my father's daughter)? The flannel I had in the 90s were actually all Dad hand-me downs, and for once in my life I was conveniently in fashion.

We are watching the gold box set of Twin Peaks.

We got our snowpants at LL Bean (mainly because we had a gift card there), very happy with them.
