Some Lyrics

Being a sentimental fool I get thoughtful and attach stories and feelings to silly places or silly items. I go to those places often and remember the stories; sometimes its with laughter and sometimes its with sadness.

People are in a funk lately *hugs*

Apparently Cafe Aventura in The Garage Mall in Harvard Square is closed. RIP oh ye place of the cheap, huge, greasy slices of pizza - I will remember you well and some of the many, many times that I sat in your chairs looking down at the people coming up the escalator to go to Newbury Comics or that cheezy jewelry store that sold all the heavy metal rings.

****

From Prince's little respected album "Parade"

Tracy died soon after a long fought civil war,
just after I'd wiped away his last tear
I guess he's better off than he was before,
A whole lot better off than the fools he left here
I used 2 cry 4 Tracy because he was my only friend
Those kind of cars don't pass u every day
I used 2 cry 4 Tracy because I wanted to see him again,
But sometimes sometimes life ain't always the way...

Sometimes it snows in April
Sometimes I feel so bad, so bad
Sometimes I wish life was never ending,
and all good things, they say, never last

Springtime was always my favorite time of year,
A time 4 lovers holding hands in the rain
Now springtime only reminds me of Tracy's tears
Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain
He used 2 say so strong unafraid to die
Unafraid of the death that left me hypnotized
No, staring at his picture I realized
No one could cry the way my Tracy cried

Sometimes it snows in April
Sometimes I feel so bad
Sometimes, sometimes I wish that life was never ending,
And all good things, they say, never last

I often dream of heaven and I know that Tracy's there
I know that he has found another friend
Maybe he's found the answer 2 all the April snow
Maybe one day I'll see my Tracy again

Sometimes it snows in April
Sometimes I feel so bad, so bad
Sometimes I wish that life was never ending,
But all good things, they say, never last

All good things that say, never last
And love, it isn't love until it's past

Prince is an amazing musician and has written some really beautiful and thoughtful songs. Unfortunately it seems like this album (like the movie it went along with) are seen by many as the 'bastard stepchild of the Prince Collection'.

I hadn't thought of it in years, it just popped into my head :)

I was never really a huge fan but the more I am exposed to his songs lately the more I am coming to appreciate what a great artist he is. I really love "The Cross" its a great song sung accoustically. I really should get some greatest hits compilation or something - but then that would probably only have the pop hits and not the deeper stuff....hmmm, have to look into it.

That's really sad; I have many memories (good and bad) of that place, and would've liked to get a chance to eat there again before its closure. Do you have any idea why it's shut? I can't imagine that it could have been because they weren't getting enough business...

Bleh. First The Tasty, now Cafe A. Soon it'll be The Greenhouse, that little grill place, and Tommy's, and then there will be nothing but chains in Harvard Sq. anymore. :(

Brian found out in the Harvard Square LJ community . . . it said business hasn't been good, someone else bought the place and now something else is there (not sure what).
