I got most of my homework for next Tuesday's class done already (!) I'm hoping to finish it tonight. Its amazing how keeping things with me and working on it when I have small bits of time has gotten me through things faster. I wish I had figured this out when I first started grad school a year and a half ago!
Last night was my first dance class of the fall session. They told us that there are 3 sessions this year (so I'm guessing one in the fall, one in January and one in April). Each session is 8 weeks.
Wow, its perfect! This session will be based on Gabrielle Roth's 5 principles of rhythms of movement (flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness). According to Roth aspects of our life fall into these areas, and we can meditate/dance in each of these ways to bring more understanding to things. I picked up one of Roth's books a few years back because I thought the title ("Sweat your Prayers") was cool, and I could gather from the back of the book that it was about dance and spirituality - two things that are very important to me. I LOVED this book, its one of my most favorite ones ever. I knew that my dance teachers offered a session based on the 5 rhythms, but didn't know that was what would be offered this term.
Yeah, so I'm getting some exercise, getting to dance and doing some spiritual meditation at the same time. I think this will be a really amazing 8 weeks.
For those of you that would like to check out the book I read see here

I also found out that next week I should be able to get a copy of the video from our performance in June . . . would any of you like to see it? If so I could have a viewing at my house (and you could see our new kitchen, too).
(heh, which reminds me, I have to ask Cannongirl about getting copies of the pix she took and get them online with the ones that my dance teacher took once I have Dreamweaver again, and fix all the broken stuff on my website)
