Pete burned me some songs to check out from a UK band, The Darkness, last night: http://www.thedarknessrock.com/

Man, they are cheesy 80's style metal (hair metal, not rock ala Rick Springfield like Waltham is). They are great car music if you're into that sort of thing (James!) :) The title of their first album is VERY similar to the title of Waltham's first official album too.

I think they're more glam than hair metal, but otoh they do seem to be influenced by a lot of genres. They have the potential to be the modern Queen, IMO; time will tell, I guess.

I didn't like them at first, but they're... um... growing on me.
