Feeling better
Oct. 30th, 2003 08:20 amFor some reason the traffic wasn't horrific when I left work yesterday. I had enough time to get to my sister's place, drop off the pics, visit for a few minutes and then jet out of there before Mom got home to find me there (and I'd need to explain what I was doing there). On the way over the sky was very wild-looking. I turned onto my parent's street and saw the most massive rainbow I've ever seen stretching around the sky above their house. Hmm.
Again, for some reason I made it home from Waltham in record time, despite that I got onto the Mass Pike at 5:00. I had enough time to clean things up a bit, read the paper and some magazines we got in the mail, set things out for this morning and for Halloween, and put our blinking battery powered lights into our carved pumpkins. Note so self (Brian), we need pictures of our Halloween decorations before putting them away.
Then we didn't do homework, or upload software, or run around doing stupid errands - we got into the car and went out to dinner and to see a friend's band play before heading home so that I could get into bed so that I wasn't a zombie today. I haven't been getting enough sleep this week and it definitely makes it more difficult to function. As always Salem Fires sounded lovely, I think they get better each time I see them live. The Sky Bar was just stupid - not having an area for bands to put their equipment (other than in the middle of the club floor) makes the place seem a bit chaotic (and I thought that Club 3/Lilly's/608 was bad) :)
Brian and I got to spend some time just talking about "stuff", some serious and some not so serious. We got to really be together which is different than just being around each other while we're doing our own things, running from event to event, or dealing with silly people.
We're going to continue to try and cut stupid stuff out of our life so that we aren't just spending time reacting to things. We also really miss the casual hang-out time we used to have with people that didn't involve crazy planning or everyone's damned issues.
Methinks the Breakfast Club will rise again (after this weekend - must get through Mom's birthday first).

And, if I could only remember the "anniversary" date of the BC; I remember it was right around my bday (which is next week anyway). Do you remember when it was roughly? heh. Thinking back on who I initially invited and what it snowballed into... man, that was fun! (most of the time.) *smirk*
yeah - if there were plans for Sat. ones, J could even come! no work!
