We got a postcard from our realtor today. He sends them out sporadically, kind of those "I'm thinking of you, let me know if I can have your money again" types of things. Its just kind of funny that we got one in the mail today of all days. They don't arrive *that* often.

Here's the house btw. I know you're all going to think I'm nuts given the place we live now. Its the location that I'm excited about, not the bungalow: click me

Its around the corner from the cemetery that my grandfather, great-uncle and uncle are buried in too - how gawth!

I remember a Nancy Drew book about a bungalow. I had no clue what they even were beyond 'a small house' until we started house shopping 2 years ago. We even put an offer for one in Waltham (that we didn't get)! If we had we'd be living about 3 houses down from Laeyla. :) The rooms could be tiny (there is a dormer in the back of the house - hence 4 bedrooms) or the place could be a total dump but it may be worth checking out if tomorrow goes well. If not, ah well - its not meant to be.

Driving home today I was listening a CD and heard a great goddess song - only it was about Persephone. I was groovin in the car way more than I have to the Artemis one. I wonder given our attempt to turn this 'event of suck' into something positive Persephone would be a good goddess for me to dance rather than Artemis. I'm a firm believer that darkness isn't a bad thing - we need the negative to view the positive; we need the winter to reflect and then be born again in the spring. I think I may be changing my dance (I still haven't told the teachers what I'd be doing, since I wasn't at class last week and there wasn't one this week).

Hrm.

well, it seems like the kind of house that if you decided to really stay there after you'd built some equity, that you might even be able to build...up. like put in a proper 2nd floor!

the yard seems cute. i wonder what the basement looks like? love the big tree. envy the driveway!

That house looks - familar.
Kinda where is it? Anywhere near my hell client? off that street that fancy house with all the statues was on? Becuase there are houses on side streets around there that are for sale. They are - dingy, and I'm hoping this one isn't the house I'm thinking of.

And it doesn't matter how perfect the house is - you're not happy with your neighborhood. You can't be happy with the house. *hugs* I'm sure the answer will present itself - they usually do *grins*

Nope - its elsewhere on the Newton Line. Its directly behind the Whittimore School (the school is on Parmenter Road, this house is on Hovey Street/Road).

But its definitely dingy - all the paint ont he back was scraped off (they must of been planning to paint at one point and then decided against it).

cute!

I can see the potential. You can do so much with that - the great thing about bungalows is that they are not too intricate in their design, so it is almost like a blank slate. It looks like it would turn into a rather nice home with your touch!

I think you're a _little_ nuts. But then, show me somebody who's not nuts, and I'll show you somebody who's not a friend of mine.

And you've got to do what makes you happiest. :)

It looks small from the outside, but there are 4 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen and 2 baths in there! Besides, you guys are handy and if you need to expand, I'm sure you'll find a way. I completely understand about the location thing. If you aren't happy where you are living, it doesn't matter how nice it is. I hope you get it so that you can live in waltham again.

I am all about location and surroundings before all, and that home looks expandable should you feel the need, but most of all, it is where you want to be.

got potential. And like someone else already said, its expandable, can go up.

Another thought is that, given you don't have a mess of kids, you guys are able to live in a smaller house than you're in now. Not a lot of people can take advantage of that.

And yeah, you can always go up. You two are much more inclined for something like that than average. :)

I have no idea what the house you live in now is like, so I can't compare, but although the outside of that house is nothing to write home about, the inside sounds nice. Fixing up a house (especially one that needs the most work on the outside) can be very financially rewarding, so if the price is right the house could be a good investment for you as well as a better living space than your current home; that way you can sell up later (should you and Brian have kids or if you just want more space) and still stay in Waltham.

Good luck with it! :>

Its quite different - about 500 square feet larger, in better condition, larger rooms, stained glass, totally refinished (since we refinished it all):

That's a beautiful house. Go you for refinishing it! That will serve you well whenever you're ready to sell. Too bad you can't just buy land in Waltham and move it there. ;>

I totally forget how big houses in the US are until someone says something like 'about 500 square feet larger.' I'd lovelovelove a flat/condo/house that even approached a thousand square feet, which is terribly hard to find here.
