Dammit! Whenever I print articles from http://www.jstor.org/ it takes forever (whether its from home or work). I haven't tried it from school because I don't want to have to pay the library for the printouts.

Seriously, a 12 page document took around 10 minutes to print, yikes!

I'm concerned I won't have enough sources for my lit review for the Master's paper. I don't want to go to the library on Sunday morning but it may just come to that . . .

That's how I'm doing them (both from home and work).

I thought that my printer at home may have been the culprit. We were thinking it 'got tired' because the first batch of articles would be fine while subsequent ones were very slow (long pauses between pages). I have a super-cool laser printer at work though and its having the same issues. I'm wondering if its Jstor . . .

I did try downloading them at home as PDFs and unfortunately it didn't make it any faster (I did this because after finding tons of articles by searching for hours and then flagging them for printing I got impatient, closed a bunch of open windows and closed the main Jstor one by accident, ouch! I had to go through my history and find all of those articles again - not fun).

Thanks for the tips! I'll try different formats at some point, if it saves me some time it will be worth it :)

I always download the "fax-quality" PDFs and then when they're on the hard drive print as needed. But printing is still slow, nonetheless. Of course then you can always read them on the screen if you can stand it.

Nah, I stare at a computer all day that I like to get away from them when I can. I also like being able to highlight and make notes so that when I'm writing my paper I can find the info easily.
