I'm going to an open house on Sunday up on the hill off of College Farm Road. It probably looks down on where The Wallex used to be before they tore it down to build some more lovely cookie-cutter condos (just what the city needed, you know).

I'll be going by my lonesome on Sunday unless I can rope my Dad into keeping me company. If its awesome and doesn't fly off the market (heh) I'll have to go back with Brian after he's returned from being an uber-dork.

Dear Jodi:
I do not know if you remember me. My name is Maureen McLaughlin,I taught dancing for Miss Peggy for many years. I started studying dance with her when I was 12 in 1980 and taught for her from 1987-1989. You were right (BTW) the photo of her in the white tux is from 1988. I remember it so well. Peg and I were in NY that year for the Dance Teachers Convention and she decided that she like the white and gold costumes from CHANDRA that were on display at the Waldorf that year. When Peg passed away I put her name into my web browser and came across your site.
Your tribute to her was amazing and your account of her wake was precise and touching.
She will always be with us. She represents true class, true grit and a remarkable passion for life.
I wish you all the best!
Maureen

Yep!

I do remember you - I had been meaning to reply to the other post, but hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Those gold costumes were very interesting, in that there were 8 kids in our class and the front of the costume had a large figure 8 in white sequins. I think that was also the year she had the massive ship, and we did The Good Ship Lollipop :)

Thanks for your note - I keep saying I'm going to write my own short story or something about Miss Peggy (I had those thoughts even before she was ill) given what an amazing woman she was. Its one of the things on my long list of 'after Grad School activities' - as is getting back to tap classes :)

hey!

Hey there.
I may have a good idea for a plan. I'll leave a message a little later, when I'm sure you're not napping.
Doh! I think I'm speaking through developer's voice.... I should relog in.
But cartoons make me lazy!
Ciao Bella,
-K
