There is a new moon on the day that our stuff is moving into the new house (June 17). In other words:

New Moon (0 - 45 degrees in front of the sun)
The energy of the new moon is birth and its metaphor is spring. It's a good time to start new projects, begin relationships and plant gardens. You might find yourself feeling impulsive, and you have access to a dynamic burst of start-up juice.

Oh, by the way, I'm starting to contact movers. We're moving at the end of July. Do you have any advice on questions to ask and stuff to consider when picking one? I've looked everyone up on Better Business Bureau. Besides that, I have no idea since I've never hired movers before.

We called movers that friends had recommended, and did in-home estimates. What we asked mostly in addition to times to move, number of people doing move, and rates were:
-How does insurance work (some charge more $ for insurance, some don't even offer it).
-Are there additional charges (some movers guarantee price, others don't, some charge more if its raining since they take extra time to wrap up all things that aren't boxes).

This is the first time we're using movers too. I've heard good things about Gentle Giant (who you've called already), Nick's Movers (but they were coming from the Boston area, Sommerville I think, so they costed more than we needed to pay if we booked someone local) and Firefly movers.

Thanks for the advice! I hadn't even thought about insurance.

We're closing at the end of June, and our lease on the apartment expires at the end of July. The timing is really good, as we can do some work on the house before moving our stuff in.
