The bakery near our new place is a Russian-Italian bakery, funky. Their website stinks: http://www.panoramabakery.com/

Here's another site in Russian which seems to indicate hours (which is a good sign - I was hoping that they sold to the public). I guess they also have one in Newton Center:

Thanks! I was hoping you'd see this and be able to translate the hours for me :) I knew they were hours, just didn't know what the corresponding days were.

Now, is there anything in particular that you'd recommend we check out? I've never been to a Russian bakery before (but soon, that will all change) :)

Now you can bring freshly baked russian pastries over when you guys walk here for breakfast on a Sunday morning ;)

unfortunately, i'm not a pastry person, so i don't have anything specific to recommend. looking at the flyer, though, it looks like they have pierogies as well as pastries, and homemade pierogies should be really good.

(pierogies are similar to ravioli, only have potato or meat fillings; they can be boiled, but some people like to boil and then fry them)

I was raised on pierogies as my grandpa is russian. They are absolutely one of my favorite foods in the world, especially with potato and cheese filling, boiled and then fried in onion and butter. Oh dear god, the yumminess!
